The Russian Ministry of Defense announced today, Sunday, that Russian air defense systems destroyed 51 Ukrainian drones over Russian territory during the night.
Sputnik Agency reported the Russian Defense Ministry as saying in a statement: "During the night, an attempt by the Kyiv regime to carry out a terrorist attack using drones on targets in Russian territory was thwarted."
The statement added that: "51 Ukrainian drones were destroyed and intercepted by air defense systems during service, with 18 drones shot down over the territory of Tambov Oblast, 16 drones shot down over the territory of Belgorod Oblast, and four drones destroyed over the territory of Bryansk Oblast, four over Lipetsk Oblast, and four over Oryol Oblast."
The statement continued: "Three drones were destroyed over the territory of Voronezh Oblast, a drone was shot down over Kursk Oblast, and a Ukrainian drone was shot down over the Sea of Azov."
The Ukrainian armed forces target the Russian border areas in Crimea and the Belgorod, Bryansk, Kursk, and Voronezh regions almost daily with drones and missiles, aiming to instill terror among civilians.
