The field survey of the poultry sector in Hodeida Governorate was completed today. It was carried out within the poultry units of agricultural associations, in coordination with the relevant agricultural authorities of the governorate, and sponsored by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Water Resources.
During the meeting to review the indicators and results of the survey, the First Undersecretary of the Governorate, Ahmed Al-Bishri, praised the efforts in conducting this survey and its importance in preparing plans and programs aimed at advancing poultry sector projects, based on an accurate database.
Meanwhile, the Assistant Undersecretary for Southern Districts, Muthar Al-Hadi, addressed the importance of the survey in organizing the poultry sector, emphasizing the need to verify the data collected from the field to build future plans and projects that would elevate the poultry sector, according to sound foundations to translate the leadership's direction towards self-sufficiency.
Al-Jashari clarified that contractual farming will be activated, focusing on providing poultry feed from local corn and soybeans through poultry units in agricultural associations and relevant authorities to reduce the import bill and support local production to achieve self-sufficiency.
