Geneva - Saba:
The World Health Organization confirmed today, Thursday, that the health situation in northern Gaza is horrifying, calling on "everyone to protect hospitals and adhere to international law."
The Director-General of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, stated in a post on the platform "X" that "the organization condemns the attack that occurred this morning on Kamal Adwan Hospital, which resulted in injuries to some hospital staff, and struck a warehouse containing life-saving supplies provided by the World Health Organization through complex missions, in addition to a water desalination station and water tanks above the hospital."
Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus noted that the hospital is barely operational since the last raid, emphasizing that the recent attack puts patients' lives in grave danger.
For his part, UN Secretary-General António Guterres confirmed that the only thing preventing "ethnic cleansing" in Gaza is the refusal of Palestinians to leave the enclave and the refusal of Arab countries to accept refugees.
Guterres told the British newspaper "The Guardian" on the sidelines of the "COP16" biodiversity conference in Colombia that "the intention may be for the Palestinians to leave Gaza so that other parties can occupy it," pointing out that "the international community must take action on this issue."
He added: "I commend the courage of the Palestinian people and their resilience, and the determination of the Arab world to prevent ethnic cleansing from becoming a reality," emphasizing that "we will do our utmost to help them remain there and avoid the ethnic cleansing that could occur if there is not strong resolve from the international community."
The Zionist enemy has been waging a devastating war on Gaza since October 7, 2023, and the Ministry of Health in Gaza announced that the number of deaths in the Israeli air and ground assault in Gaza has exceeded 43,000.
For the twenty-sixth day, the Israeli army continues its military operation in the northern governorate of the Gaza Strip, specifically in Jabalia and its camp, where it continues to bombard civilians, demolish their homes, and prevent the entry of aid, food, water, medicine, and fuel.
