Beirut - Saba:
Fifty-nine Lebanese citizens were martyred in ten bloody massacres committed by the Zionist enemy on Friday in Baalbek, Hermel and Tyre governorates in eastern and southern Lebanon.
The Lebanese National News Agency (LNA) reported that the Zionist enemy poured its hatred and criminality on the people of Baalbek city and the villages of the district on a bloody day, committing massacres against peaceful civilians, taking revenge on women, children and defenceless people, after failing to advance on the southern border.
The agency said: ‘The Zionist enemy did not respect any sanctity, nor was it restrained by international charters or so-called human rights, which are wasted and violated in front of the whole world, and launched more than 25 raids yesterday, whose victims were close to sixty martyrs, in addition to dozens of wounded.’
In Baalbek, the Ras al-Ain neighbourhood was brutally bombed by Zionist enemy aircraft, resulting in the destruction of a building, a section of another building and the largest section of a café and a restaurant, causing serious damage to homes, tourist establishments and shops in the neighbourhood, while in the east of the city a building was destroyed in a neighbourhood of the town of Nahla, and in the west the enemy aircraft targeted a two-storey building, metres from the thermal power plant and electricity distribution plant, near the Iyat junction.
Two citizens of Baalbek and another citizen of Syrian nationality were martyred.
The Zionist enemy committed nine other massacres. In the town of Amhaz, 12 martyrs were killed from the Amhaz and al-Bazzal families. The massacre between the towns of Harbata and Rasm al-Hadath resulted in the death of an entire family consisting of a father, mother and four children.
The massacre in the town of Yunin resulted in eight martyrs, the massacre in Bidnayil resulted in six martyrs and the massacre in Sa`idah resulted in five martyrs.
The Zionist enemy also committed a massacre in the Al-Alaq area against a family of the Kana`an family, which resulted in four victims: the father, mother and two daughters, the Labwah massacre resulted in three victims and the Nahlah town resulted in five martyrs.
Two martyrs were killed in Taraya, in addition to one each in Baalbek periphery, Hosh al-Nabi and Qasrnba.
In the southern city of Tyre, two people were martyred and dozens of others were injured, and the Tibnin Governmental Hospital and neighbouring buildings were severely damaged, as Zionist attacks on the villages of Tyre and Bint Jbeil districts continued throughout the night until this morning, and enemy warplanes bombed residential neighbourhoods in the towns of Yaroun, Maroun, Haris, Sarbin and Al-Hosh, which are living in darkness.
In the town of Ain Abel, enemy warplanes targeted shops on the outskirts of the town, and warplanes also targeted the towns of Shahabiya, Batulia, Shaqra, Kunin, Al-Tiri, Jiya, Hanin, Aita Al-Shaab, and at midnight last night, the enemy launched a series of successive raids on the city of Bint Jbeil.
The Lebanese Ministry of Health announced on Friday evening that the total number of martyrs since the start of the Zionist aggression on Lebanon has reached 2897 martyrs and 13150 wounded.
