Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi condemned German authorities' disruption of the activity of Iranian consulates in Berlin, calling it "a surprising and unjustified measure that has caused suffering and burden to Iranian nationals in this country , others wishing to benefit from consular services and visas."
The foreign minister made the remarks during a meeting with his aides on Saturday, according to IRNA, to discuss the nature of consular services for Iranian nationals living in Germany, following Berlin's decision to prevent the continued activity of the Islamic Republic's consulates in the German cities of Frankfurt, Hamburg and Munich.
In this meeting, after discussing the reports of the Iranian Foreign Minister's assistants for consular affairs, parliamentary affairs and Iranian nationals abroad, it was decided to take the necessary measures to facilitate consular services for the Iranian community living in Germany through virtual space, as well as strengthening the role of neighboring Iranian missions, including the Islamic Republic's embassies in Berlin, Bern, The Hague, Vienna, Prague and Brussels, IRNA reported.
