New York - Saba:
The General Commissionaire of the UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) late on Wednesday called on the World to save the agency from Israeli ban that would have catastrophic impacts on millions of people stuck in Gaza war.
In a statement, Fylyb Lazaryny told the 193 UN General Assembly's member states that steps need to be taken to prevent Israel from passing an act that would ban UNRWA activities in Palestine.
Disassembly of the Agency would lead to a collapse of the UN's humanitarian response that largely depends on UNRWA's infrastructure, UNRAW General Commissionaire added.
The Agency used to provide education for generations of displaced Palestinians, many of who made notable successes in the region and around the World, he argued.
