Gold falls as dollar rises

Singapore - Saba:
Gold prices touched their lowest level in more than three weeks on Thursday as the dollar rallied after Donald Trump won the US presidential election, with the Federal Reserve's interest rate decision later in the day also in focus.

Gold in spot transactions fell 0.1 percent to $ 2656.34 an ounce, after hitting its lowest level since October 15 earlier in the session.

Gold hit a record high of $2790.15 last week, and has lost more than $130 since then.

US gold futures fell 0.5 per cent to $2663.60.

In terms of other precious metals, silver in spot transactions fell 0.4 percent to $ 31.03 an ounce, platinum fell 0.3 percent to $ 983.73, and palladium fell 0.7 percent to $ 1028.25, the three metals fell for the second consecutive session.
