Madrid - Saba:
Spanish Jorge Martin, rider of the Ducati Pramac team, won the MotoGP World Championship title after finishing third in the Barcelona Grand Prix on Sunday at Montmelo circuit in the twentieth and final round of the season.
Martin, runner-up last season, managed to win the title at the expense of Italian Francesco Bagnaia, rider of the Ducati team and world champion for the past two years, who finished first.
Martin entered the Barcelona Grand Prix with a clear advantage over his Italian competitor by 19 points in the overall standings.
Bagnaia should have finished first in the hope that his Spanish competitor would not finish the race in a higher position than ninth, but Jorge Martin finished third and was officially crowned world champion.
