Discussing mechanism for keeping documents of ministries, institutions to be merged

The head of the National Center for Documentation, Abdullah Hashim Al-Sayani, discussed with the Deputy Minister of Civil Service and Administrative Development Anas Sufyan today, the mechanism of preserving and transferring documents from ministries, authorities, and institutions that will be merged, transfer their tasks or change their organizational link by the government's program.

During the meeting, Al-Sayani stressed the importance of counting and sorting all the documents of the entities that will undergo the merger process, by specialized committees and by scientific methods that ensure their preservation from damage, archiving and coding them under the supervision of the National Center for Documents.

He explained that documents are the memory of the homeland and should be kept in places prepared for that and care not to lose or lose any documents as a result of the merger of some ministries and institutions.

The Deputy Minister of Civil Service stressed the need to enhance awareness of the importance of preserving documents, arranging and classifying them, and organizing archives in various institutions, whether they will be merged or not included in the merger process.

He referred to the role of the National Documentation Centre in the process of integration and modernization that is currently being implemented in public service units in accordance with the Documents Law.

He praised the efforts of the Centre as the body responsible for collecting, preserving and maintaining documents related to the State's activities and history, and working to organize and facilitate access to them in accordance with the laws and regulations in force.
