Ibb - Saba:
A meeting in Ibb governorate, chaired by Governor Abdul Wahid Salah and Deputy Minister of Electricity, Energy and Water Adel Bader, discussed with a team from UNICEF, water projects implemented last year with funding from the organization, and reviewed future needs to operate wells with solar energy and enhance water services.
The meeting reviewed the status of the sewage treatment plant in Ibb city, and the need to rehabilitate and expand it on an emergency basis, in addition to discussing the needs of rural water projects to provide water to rural areas. Practical steps have been taken to address these issues.
Following the meeting, officials visited the wastewater treatment plant and the proposed site for expansion, where they listened to an explanation of the plant's requirements and the works required for development.
Governor Abdul Wahed Salah stressed the importance of the partnership with UNICEF, which contributed to the implementation of vital projects to improve water services in the governorate, pointing to the importance of investing in solar energy to operate wells and meet the needs of the population in urban and rural areas.
For his part, Deputy Minister of Electricity, Energy and Water, Adel Bader, stressed the need to expand and improve the infrastructure of the treatment plant and enhance cooperation between the authorities to ensure the efficient implementation of water projects and achieve sustainable development.
