Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Jamal Amer met on Saturday with acting UN resident coordinator in Sana'a Peter Hawkes.
In the meeting, Minister Amer stressed the importance of the pivotal role of the United Nations and its organizations and agencies in supporting humanitarian and relief work in Yemen.
He expressed hope that the United Nations would encourage donors to increase their funding for humanitarian projects, especially in the most needy areas.
In turn, acting UN resident coordinator stressed that the humanitarian situation in Yemen is a priority on the United Nations agenda, and that efforts are being made to increase support for humanitarian projects.
