Today, the Yemeni Organization for Standardization, Metrology and Quality Control (YSMO) began a field visit to monitor industrial facilities in Taiz Governorate.
In a statement, YSMO explained that the descent aims to verify the application of the requirements of the approved standards during the production process and to provide those concerned with production with the necessary instructions to ensure obtaining products that conform to standard specifications.
The statement pointed out that this descent will include industrial facilities in Taiz governorate to verify the application of the requirements of the standard specifications approved during manufacturing, noting that the authority has carried out field visits during the last period to industrial facilities in several governorates as part of its efforts to upgrade the level of local industries, improve the quality of products, ensure their safety and ensure their compliance with the approved standard specifications.
For his part, the Director General of the Authority's branch in the governorate, Eng. Riyad Al-Bukhaiti, explained that the descent comes within the branch's annual plan to go to industrial facilities to monitor and control products that violate standard specifications and complete legal procedures in this regard.
He said that the descent includes the withdrawal of samples for examination and verification of their safety and conformity with the approved standard specifications and educating workers about the importance of applying technical requirements to maintain the quality of goods and products, stressing that industrial facilities will be obligated to good manufacturing practices to raise the level of quality of the local product and enhance competitiveness in front of imported products for its role in strengthening the national economy.
