The Russian Defense Ministry announced on Wednesday that Russian air defense systems destroyed 22 Ukrainian drones over the territory of several Russian provinces overnight.
Sputnik quoted the ministry as saying in a statement: “Last night, attempts by the Kiev regime to carry out terrorist attacks using drones against targets on Russian territory were stopped.”
The statement added: “The air defense systems on duty destroyed 22 Ukrainian drones, ten drones were destroyed over the territory of Rostov province, seven drones over the territory of Belgorod province, two over the territory of Voronezh province, one over Kursk province, one over Bryansk province, and one over Smolensk province.”
On an almost daily basis, Ukrainian armed forces target Russian border areas in Crimea and Belgorod, Bryansk, Kursk and Voronezh provinces with drones and missiles, with the aim of sowing terror among civilians.
