The General Organization for Coffee Development and Marketing in Ibb Governorate organized the Coffee Harvest Festival in Al-Udayn District, coinciding with the third anniversary of the coffee revolution, to promote Yemeni coffee and raising awareness of the importance of its cultivation while highlighting the quality of Al-Odaini coffee, which is one of the best varieties in the world.
The CEO of the Foundation, Mana Al-Assal, stressed the importance of coffee as an economic resource linked to the identity and civilization of Yemen, pointing to the government's efforts to support farmers and facilitate the marketing of coffee locally and internationally. Officials also praised the awareness activities accompanying the festival, which focused on sound agricultural practices to improve the quality of production and qualify farmers to produce Odaini coffee with the highest standards.
The formation of the Al-Udayn Multipurpose Agricultural Cooperative Society was announced, and farmers were honored with certificates of appreciation and coffee seedlings while praising the decision to ban the import of external coffee to support the local product. Attendees discussed the challenges of coffee cultivation, such as water scarcity and the negative impact of pesticides, stressing the need for concerted efforts to promote coffee cultivation and achieve self-sufficiency.
