Sana'a University College of Medicine commemorates founder of anesthesiology & intensive care in Yemen

Sana'a – Saba:

The Faculty of Medicine at Sana'a University and the Yemeni Society of Anesthesiologists and Intensive Care Physicians organized a memorial event for Dr. Yahya Ali Al-Huraibi, founder of anesthesiology and intensive care in Yemen, in recognition of his scientific and professional career.

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Ali Jahaf, stressed that the passing of Dr. Al-Huraibi represents a great loss for the medical field, pointing to his outstanding contributions to the establishment and development of the anesthesia specialty in Yemen and his education for generations of doctors.

The Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Khaled Al-Khamisi, pointed out that the deceased was a scientific and ethical symbol, who contributed to the establishment of the Bachelor of Anesthesia program at Sana'a University and devoted his life to the development of medical education and community service. He announced that an annual award was dedicated in his name to the best research in the field of anesthesia in honor of his giving.

Participants in the event praised the legacy of the deceased, which included the introduction of modern anesthesia techniques and the development of intensive care departments, in addition to the establishment of the Society of Anesthesiologists and its work as a key reference for the development of medical services in Yemen.

The event also included an exhibition of Dr. Al-Huraibi's holdings, research and achievements, and honoring his family with the college shield in recognition of his pioneering role.
