Moscow - Saba:
Russian President Vladimir Putin emphasized the unmatched capabilities of Russia’s hypersonic weapons and announced increased missile production during a presentation on military operations at the Collective Security Treaty summit in Astana.
Putin stated that Russia produces ten times more missiles than all NATO countries combined and plans to boost production by 25%. He highlighted the Orishnik missile, describing it as a groundbreaking, high-precision weapon capable of striking targets across Europe, with no global counterpart expected soon. Putin revealed that serial production of the missile has begun, emphasizing its role as a fully modern system developed since mid-2023.
He compared the Russian KH-101 missile favorably to European missiles such as Britain’s Storm Shadow, France’s Scallop, and Germany’s Taurus, citing superior range and equal firepower.
In response to ongoing attacks on Russian territory, Putin confirmed that Russian forces had launched strikes on Ukrainian military targets, deploying 100 missiles overnight. He warned that continued long-range strikes by Ukraine could escalate Western involvement, asserting that Western-supplied weapons would not alter the course of Russia's military operation or battlefield dynamics.
