Muscat Stock Exchange Market Capitalization Rises Last Week

Muscat - Saba:

The market capitalization of the Muscat Stock Exchange increased at the close of trading last week to RO 27.393 million, recording gains of RO 16.7 million.

The Muscat Stock Exchange benefited from the increase in the market capitalization of closed companies, which are not traded inside the hall, to RO 10.930 million, recording weekly gains of about RO 100 million, while public shareholding companies recorded a decline in their market value affected by the decline in share prices.

The declines witnessed by the stocks last week caused the main index and sectoral indices of the stock exchange to fall, as the main index recorded a decline of about 46 points and closed at 4563 points, and the financial sector index fell 30 points, and the industrial sector index recorded a decline of 46 points, and the services sector index lost about 20 points, and the Sharia index fell to 408 points, recording a decline of 10 points.

Last week's trading rose to RO 27.5 million compared to RO 11.4 million in the previous week, which was limited to 3 days, and the number of transactions executed last week increased to 7,829 transactions compared to 4,382 transactions in the previous week.
