Sana'a - Saba:

The Ministry of Culture and Tourism received on Sunday a group of artifacts from Sheikh Mohammed Saleh Naseem, one of the sons of Jawf province.

The artifacts were received by Minister of Culture and Tourism Dr. Ali al-Yafei in the presence of Chairman of the General Authority for Antiquities and Museums Obad al-Hayal, who in turn received those artifacts to deposit them in the National Museum.

Minister al-Yafei directed the Chairman of the General Authority for Antiquities and Museums and those concerned to go to the field to Jawf region accompanied by Sheikh Mohammed Naseem to see the conditions of the archaeological sites, and take all necessary measures to preserve and protect them.

He expressed his thanks on behalf of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the General Authority for Antiquities and Museums to Sheikh Mohammed Saleh Naseem for receiving and preserving the artifacts, as well as Sheikh Abdul Salam Hadi al-Ruqaisi.

Al-Yafei stressed the importance of spreading awareness among the people of the province, which contributes to preserving archaeological sites as they represent the history and identity of Yemen.

These handed over pieces are considered among the most important archaeological pieces dating back to the Qatabanian period, and they are animal and human statues, vessels made of limestone, marble vessels, and a transparent marble incense burner.

These pieces will be added to the museum collections that will be displayed in the National Museum after the necessary maintenance and restoration work is carried out.
