Baghdad - Saba:
An Iraqi security source confirmed today, Wednesday, the launch of a limited-objective security operation in the Hamrin Hills in Diyala.
The source told the Iraqi "Al-Maalooma" agency: "A joint security force launched from more than one axis in the northern part of the Hamrin Hills in Diyala to directly pursue three targets."
He added: "The operation, the first of its kind in this specific area for two months, comes within the framework of securing the perimeter of the areas and towns near any terrorist activity and re-sweeping the slopes."
He pointed out that "the intelligence effort follows the progress of the operation directly through determining the paths of the sweeping process."
It is noteworthy that Diyala witnesses, from time to time, tracking operations of terrorist cells aimed at ending their existence and achieving security stability.
