Damascus - Saba:
Syrian Defense Minister Ali Mahmoud Abbas announced last night that what happened in Hama is a temporary tactical measure and our forces are still in the vicinity of the city.
Abbas said in a televised statement: “Today, we are fighting a fierce battle with the most formidable terrorist organizations that use the guerrilla method, forcing our armed forces to use appropriate methods in fighting battles, such as hit and run, advancing and retreating to some points, especially since these takfiri organizations are backed by regional and international countries that have become known and provide them with military and logistical support.
“We are in a good field situation and our armed forces have redeployed in order to preserve lives. Military action and battle tactics sometimes require repositioning and redeployment,” he added.
“Syria, with its army, its people, its leadership and the support of its allies and friends, is capable of overcoming field challenges, no matter how severe or difficult they may be,” he added.
“After our armed forces redeployed outside the city of Hama to protect the lives of civilians and the terrorist organizations entered the city, these organizations are working to exploit this event in the media through a false disinformation campaign against our people and our armed forces aimed at spreading chaos, so these organizations may resort to issuing false statements or orders in the name of the General Command of the Army and Armed Forces or publishing fabricated audio or video recordings using artificial intelligence technology,” he added.
He added: “I call on our valiant people, both civilians and military personnel, to be aware of the dangers of this disinformation campaign, not to believe it, and to abide by what is published through official national channels exclusively, and I confirm that what happened in the city of Hama today is a temporary tactical measure, as our forces are still in the vicinity of Hama and are fully prepared and ready to carry out their national and constitutional duties.”
The statement concluded: “We urge our people in Syria to be patient and steadfast, and to be confident that we will not relent in restoring security and safety to the areas occupied by terrorists, and the Syrian Arab Army will remain as you have known it throughout the years of the war on Syria, an impenetrable dam against those who would tamper with the security of the homeland, from inside or outside.”
Earlier yesterday, the Syrian Ministry of Defense announced the departure of its forces from the city of Hama and the implementation of a redeployment and repositioning operation outside the city.
