Tehran-Saba:
Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baqaei confirmed on Sunday that Iran's peaceful nuclear activities are under the supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency.
In response to journalists' questions about the IAEA director's remarks about increasing Iran's ability to produce uranium enriched to 60 percent purity, Tasnim International News Agency quoted Baqaei as saying: "Mr. Grossi's remarks refer to the escalatory and unconstructive behavior of the three European countries and America within the Board of Governors, where they adopted a resolution against Iran without any rationale or legal basis.
He referred to Mr. Grossi's visit to Tehran and the understandings reached to enhance technical cooperation between Iran and the IAEA.
He stressed that these three European countries and America, by following the policy of pressure and exploiting the Board of Governors, thwarted the efforts of the Director General.
He stressed that Iran's peaceful nuclear program is managed within the framework of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons and the Comprehensive Safeguards Agreement with full transparency and under the supervision of the IAEA. He pointed out that the recent activities were carried out under accurate reporting to the International Atomic Energy Agency and under its continuous monitoring.
