Gaza - Saba:
The mayor of Rafah, Ahmed al-Sufi, revealed reports coming from inside the city indicating the existence of a Zionist plan to completely destroy it and make it uninhabitable.
Al-Sufi explained in a statement yesterday, Thursday, that "the Israeli forces that have penetrated Rafah since last May have carried out demolition, bulldozing and blasting operations of residential buildings, service facilities and infrastructure networks in all neighborhoods of the city."
He stressed that "the reports and photos published by the occupation soldiers clearly show that the goal of the demolition and destruction operations is only sabotage, as appeared in a video clip of the explosion of the Canada Well in the Tal al-Sultan neighborhood west of the city."
Al-Sufi considered that "Israel's" bringing in companies to demolish buildings and transport their rubble to unknown destinations is a precedent in the war of genocide.
He pointed out that "bringing in these companies confirms the existence of a premeditated plan implemented by the Israeli forces against the city of Rafah after forcing its residents to leave under fire for more than seven months."
The mayor of Rafah called on international and human rights institutions to urgently intervene to stop this criminal plan and protect what remains of the city's buildings and facilities.
"Israel" began a military operation in Rafah on May 6, 2024, and took control of the Rafah crossing despite international warnings of the catastrophic humanitarian consequences of that, while it burned it and destroyed buildings later in the same month.
With American support, "Israel" has been committing genocide in Gaza since October 7, 2023, leaving more than 150,000 martyrs and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 11,000 missing.
