Agnes Callamard, Secretary-General of Amnesty International, said Friday that it is time for the International Criminal Court to charge "Israeli" leaders with committing the crime of genocide against innocent people in the Gaza Strip.
Callamard called, in a post on social media platforms on the British Prime Minister, that "it is time for Prime Minister Keir Starmer and his Foreign Secretary to reconsider their position towards Gaza, "Israel" committed and is committing genocide in Gaza."
She stressed the need to implement the decision of the International Criminal Court, which calls for the prosecution of Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Minister of War, Yoav Galant, on charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity.
The Secretary-General of Amnesty International stressed that after the issuance of the arrest warrants, "member states of the International Criminal Court and the international community as a whole must do everything in their power to ensure that these individuals appear before the independent and impartial judges of the International Criminal Court."
She pointed out that the recent decision of the International Criminal Court gives real hope for achieving justice for countless victims of war crimes under international law.
