Cooperatives in Sana'a began on Monday signing deals on contractual agriculture with frozen chicken importers to buy local chicken instead of imported ones.
The deals are inked following instructions from minister of agriculture, fisheries and water resources aimed to back local production, price chains officer at the ministry told Saba.
Last November saw the signature of contracts between importers and cooperatives to provide inputs for local chicken production, by growing corn and soya, Hilal al-Jeshari added.
