The Governor of Hajjah, Hilal Al-Sufi, inaugurated the first seasonal market for pharmaceutical honey in the Bani Qais district, organized by the Bani Qais Agricultural Association in coordination with the agricultural sector and the Agricultural Cooperative Union, and with the support of the Agricultural and Fisheries Production Promotion Fund.
The market lasts three days and aims to market the pharmaceutical honey that characterizes the directorate and neighboring areas, in a move that seeks to boost local production and encourage beekeepers to develop their activities. The Governor praised the role of the association and the community in preserving reserves and developing bee wealth, calling on other associations to follow the example of this initiative, and stressed the keenness of the local authority to support development projects that promote local products and support economic development.
For his part, the Secretary-General of the Agricultural Cooperative Union, Mohammed Al-Qahoum, noted the importance of the market as a step to promote the marketing of pure honey free of chemical interventions, praising the efforts of the local community and the Agricultural Association in organizing reserves.
This initiative comes as part of the association's plan to develop the honey sector through the establishment of nature reserves and field schools that contributed to increasing the production of pharmaceutical honey with high quality that competes with imported products, which enhances the stability of the local market and supports beekeepers economically.
