Enemy media says several pivotal issues hinder reaching prisoner exchange deal

Occupied al-Quds- Saba:

The Zionist enemy media revealed on Wednesday that there are a number of pivotal issues hindering reaching a prisoner exchange deal between the Zionist entity and the Hamas movement.

The Zionist Public Broadcasting Corporation reported that negotiations aimed at concluding a ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip and releasing prisoners continued Wednesday, as the head of the US Central Intelligence Agency, William Burns, will meet in Doha with Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani.

This meeting comes in an attempt to resolve the outstanding points between the Zionist entity and Hamas, according to Reuters.

Despite the progress in the exchange deal contacts, no understandings have been reached on the issues of dispute, including the Zionist enemy army remaining in the Philadelphi axis, and the path of releasing prisoners and their number, according to the Zionist Broadcasting Corporation.

The corporation quoted an informed foreign source as saying there are "positive indicators, but no breakthrough has been achieved."

In the same context, the Zionist newspaper "Maariv" reported that the so-called Minister of Finance of the Zionist entity, Bezalel Smotrich, opposes the crystallized proposal for a prisoner deal.

It is noteworthy that Hamas confirmed yesterday the possibility of reaching an agreement on a ceasefire and prisoner exchange, "if the enemy stops setting new conditions."

Hamas insists on its conditions in the current negotiations, which include the release of the largest possible number of Palestinian prisoners, especially those with long sentences, and the gradual return of life to the Gaza Strip.
