Occupied Quds - Saba:

The Zionist Broadcasting Corporation said on Friday that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu decided not to attend events to be held in Poland to commemorate the eightieth anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz camp next January, for fear of arrest.

"Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will not go to Poland to celebrate the eightieth anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz for fear of arrest under the ICC arrest warrant."

On November 21, the ICC issued two international arrest warrants for Netanyahu and dismissed Defense Minister Yoav Galant on charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity committed during the ongoing war of extermination on the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023.

The charges against Netanyahu and Gallant include incitement to genocide, using famine as a method of warfare, including obstructing humanitarian relief supplies, as well as deliberately targeting civilians during the Gaza offensive.

The commission quoted Polish media as saying that its Deputy Foreign Minister Vladislaw Bartoszewski stressed his country's commitment to "respect the decisions of the International Criminal Court in The Hague, which makes Netanyahu's visit fraught with legal risks."
