The branch of the General Authority for Rural Water Projects in Ibb Province inaugurated on Saturday the start of work to rehabilitate Kabar water project in Al-Sada district.
The project includes the installation of a 17-panel solar energy system provided by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the rest of the components of the system funded by philanthropists.
During the inauguration, the director of the Rural Water Authority branch in the province, Majid Al-Shami, explained that the rehabilitation of water projects and strengthening them to provide clean water to the beneficiaries, and their rehabilitation with solar energy systems, comes in response to the existing needs according to the Authority's interim strategic plan for the years 1444-1447 AH, based on the directives of the Revolution Leader and in implementation of the directives of the political leadership.
In addition, the director of the Rural Water Authority's branch in Al-Sada district inaugurated the second phase of Al-A'amas water project.
The first phase of the project included the installation of two solar energy systems worth $110,000, funded by the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS).
The second phase includes the implementation of a 100-cube water distribution tank and connecting a network to the remaining areas in the same area, funded by the International Organization for Migration (IOM), for a total amount of $65,000.
During the inauguration and visit, Al-Shami, along with the deputy director general of the branch, Engineer Abdullah Al-Qadiri, and Engineer Abdulbasit Al-Shami who inspected the water project in the village of Al-Masqa and neighboring shops.
They listened to an explanation from the project official about the need to rehabilitate and expand the network, complete the connection to the needy areas, and provide a solar energy system.
Al-Shami explained that the required technical studies will be carried out and submitted as part of the Authority's plan to search for funding sources.
