Hodeida - Saba:
The UN mission team to support Hodeida agreement visited on Saturday the sites of operational mechanisms and equipment in Hodeida port, which were targeted by the Israeli aggression, last Thursday morning, with a number of raids.

The UN team, accompanied by Minister of Transport and Public Works Mohammed Ayash Quhaim, member of the national team of the Redeployment Committee, Major General Mohammed al-Qaderi, Chairman of the Red Sea Ports Corporation Zaid al-Washli, and the liaison officer of Hodeida Agreement Support Committee, inspected the floating crane, bridge cranes and marine launches for towing ships, which were hit by the criminal bombing that led to some of them going out of service and sinking at sea.

The UN team listened to the port specialists explaining this crime and its consequences on the operational status of the port, and the extent of commitment to the UN standards and procedures related to the ports being free of any military manifestations, especially since they are subject to supervision by the UN mission and three field patrols.

The Minister of Transport and Public Works stressed that international laws and legislation related to this aspect clearly criminalize the targeting of civilians and civilian facilities.

He called on the UN mission to assume its role and responsibilities in accordance with the decision and tasks of its formation, and to condemn the repeated Israeli aggression on the ports of Hodeida, Salif and Ras Issa, and to submit a report to the mission on the extent of the damage and blatant violation to which these vital facilities were exposed.

Minister Quhaim also stressed that the United Nations bears full responsibility for not playing its role towards these catastrophic repercussions and the damage that affects the interests of the Yemeni people, as these vital facilities are civilian facilities that provide their services to millions of the Yemeni people.

He pointed out that the arrogant Zionist entity did not observe any treaty or rule of international humanitarian law regarding its aggression against the peoples of the region.
