Jannik Sinner maintains top place as tennis player

Jannik Sinner has maintained his lead in the world rankings of professional tennis players, for the 28th consecutive week.

The Italian player ended the current year 2024 at the top of the rankings after winning eight titles, most notably the Australian Open and the US Open, in addition to the title of the ATP Finals.

The world ranking, which was issued on Monday, did not witness any changes in the list of the top ten places, as Sinner remained in the lead with 11,830 points, followed by German Alexander Zverev in second place with 7,915 points, then Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz in third place with 7,010 points, American Taylor Fritz in fourth place with 5,100 points, and Russian Daniil Medvedev in fifth place with 5,030 points.

Norwegian Casper Ruud came in sixth with 4,255 points, Serbian Novak Djokovic in seventh place with 3,910 points, Russian Andrey Rublev in eighth place with 3,760 points, Australian Alex de Minaur in ninth place with 3,745 points, and Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov in tenth place with 3,350 points.

For women, Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka continued to lead the weekly world ranking issued by the Women's Tennis Association with 9,416 points, followed by Polish Iga Swiatek in second place with 8,295 points, then American Coco Gauff in third place with 6,530 points, Italian Jasmine Paolini in fourth place with 5,344 points, and Chinese Qinwen Zheng in fifth place with 5,340 points.

Kazakhstan's Elena Rybakina came in sixth place with 5,171 points, followed by American Jessica Pegula in seventh place with 4,705 points, her comher compatriot Emma Navarro in eighth place with 3,589 points, Russian Daria Kasatkina in ninth place with 3,368 points, and Czech Barbora Krejcikova in tenth place with 3,214 points.
