Sana'a - Saba:

A training course targeting 300 rural women from Hamdan district was concluded in Sana'a to raise awareness of the importance of compound flour as a substitute for white flour, and to improve dietary patterns.

The course was organized by the General Organization for Grain Development and Production in cooperation with the local authority and the Northern Sector Association and lasted four days.

The course focused on the risks of relying on imported flour, and methods of producing food products such as cakes and sweets from compound flour, with emphasis on promoting self-sufficiency and returning to the local dietary pattern.

At the end of the session, the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources, Dr. Radwan Al-Rubai, stressed the need to promote local agriculture, confront urban expansion on agricultural lands, and establish markets to market local products.

He also praised the channeling of the bazaar's revenues to support the rocket force and the Palestinian resistance. Eng. Salah Al Mashreqi, Acting CEO of the Foundation, praised the interaction of the local community in Hamdan and the efforts to revive the culture of compound flour to improve the economy and health.

The event included the opening of a bazaar selling local products made from compound flour. It was emphasized that this initiative represents a step towards enhancing domestic production, achieving food sovereignty, and reducing dependence on imports.
