Gaza - Saba:
The Human Rights Organizations Group in Palestine "Freedom" denounced the US parliament of Representatives' approval of a bill imposing sanctions on the International Criminal Court after it issued arrest warrants against Zionist war criminals.
In a statement issued today, Saturday, the group warned the international community against submitting to the desires of the US administration, which is biased in favor of the Zionist entity at the expense of the Palestinian rights holders.. calling on the international community to stand in the face of the US monopolization of the United Nations system and independent international bodies.
It called on human rights organizations in Palestine to give priority to the values, norms and rules of international humanitarian law and human rights law.. indicating that imposing sanctions on the International Criminal Court, which is authorized to investigate, prosecute and hold accountable serious and grave violations of the rules of international humanitarian law, undermines the pillars of humanitarian law and wastes the values recognized by the international community.
The group praised the position of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court and the judges of the court, urging them to work in accordance with the Rome Statute, calling on them to exert more efforts in the context of pursuing Zionist criminals until they are punished.
It denounced the biased American legislation, which comes at a time when the Zionist enemy forces continue their organized and systematic aggression against civilians, civilian objects and protected facilities in the Gaza Strip.
The human rights group issued an urgent appeal to the international community and the High Contracting Parties to the Geneva Conventions and the parties to the Rome Statute, calling on them to support the efforts of the court, confront any attempt to politicize its work, and ensure the protection of its workers.
It also called on the US administration to refuse to ratify this law and reconsider its absolute support for the Zionist military occupation forces.. urging the international community to cooperate fully with the court and provide it with the necessary assistance in order to thwart the American draft law.
The human rights group also called on civil society associations and organizations working in the field of human rights and humanitarian law to launch a campaign to support the court and support it in proving the involvement of the Zionist occupation forces in war crimes and crimes against humanity in the Gaza Strip.
Activists and human rights activists also called for launching pressure campaigns in the context of demanding the formation of special courts to prosecute the leaders of the war occupation and punish them for their crimes against civilians, at a time when the US administration is obstructing the work of the highest international judicial body by imposing sanctions on it with the aim of limiting its role in prosecuting Zionist criminals.
