Baghdad - Saba:
An Iraqi security source confirmed, today, Tuesday, the launch of a security operation in the refinery sector near Baiji district in Salahuddin Governorate, aiming to comb the agricultural and complex geographical areas to ensure that they are free of remnants of the terrorist "ISIS" gangs.
The source said in an interview with the Iraqi "Al-Maalouma" Agency: "A joint security force supported by intelligence detachments set out in the eastern part of the refinery basin areas near Baiji district, to comb six overlapping areas, some of which are agricultural and characterized by complex geography."
He explained that "the operation comes within the framework of procedures aimed at ensuring that these areas are free of any terrorist remnants of ISIS gangs, as five explosive devices were seized against people, and explosives experts dismantled them and transferred them to a safe location in preparation for detonating them later."
The source pointed out that "combing operations are continuing according to the plan set by the security leadership supervising the operation," indicating that "combing is part of the strategy of the security services in Salah al-Din to secure areas near villages and towns and prevent any potential security threats."
