Occupied Quds - Saba:
Sheikh Ikrima Sabri, the preacher of Al-Aqsa Mosque, stated that "all current conspiracies", and even the "Deal of the Century" previously proposed by US President-elect Donald Trump, aim to hand over "al-Aqsa" to the Jews.
During a meeting with the "Jihan al-Ummah" Association (a civil society) on the subject of "Palestine is our right" on Wednesday, Sheikh Sabri said: "Palestine is ours, and when we say it, we speak on behalf of all Muslims around the world. We do not speak on behalf of the Palestinians only. We say it's ours with evidence and not just emotions… We as Muslims all love Quds and al-Aqsa, but this emotion is not enough."
He explained that "our defense of our claims must be with evidence and proof, and our claim includes a group of rights and not a specific aspect. The first of these aspects is the doctrinal and faith-based right that Palestine is part of our faith."
Regarding what Quds is currently facing, Sabri said: "The occupier is trying to prevent the call to prayer, especially the dawn and evening prayers, under the pretext that it disturbs the settlers who came to Palestine as strangers. They tried to prevent the call to prayer several times and failed, so the call to 'Allah is the Greatest' will remain until the Day of Judgment."
The Palestinians say that Israel, since its occupation of East Quds in 1967, has been intensifying its measures to Judaize the city, including al-Aqsa Mosque, and to erase its Arab and Islamic identity.
They are clinging to East Quds, as the capital of their hoped-for state, based on the decisions of legitimacy that do not recognize Israel's occupation of the city or its annexation in 1981.
"Whoever is disturbed by the call to prayer must leave, but we are rooted in our land and cling to our right," they say.
"We assure all Muslims that the people of Palestine are clinging to their claim and committed to their religion and will not surrender, despite what happened and is happening now in proud Gaza," Sheikh Sabri said. "We are strong in our right because the one who has the right is strong."
Sabri added that "the steadfastness of the people of Palestine is a steadfastness of faith, and if the conspiracies that befell Palestine had affected other countries, they would have become extinct, but the Palestinian Cause has remained for 100 years, because al-Aqsa is in the heart of Palestine."
