Ottawa - Saba:
Canada's total wheat exports increased by 151 percent during the last week to record more than 727,000 metric tons, compared to 289,000 metric tons during the previous week, according to data from the Canadian Grain Commission.
Spring wheat exports recorded an increase of 124 percent to reach 611,000 metric tons, compared to 272,000 metric tons in the previous week, and durum wheat exports also increased last week by 116,000 metric tons compared to 17,500 metric tons exported during the previous week, the Commission said in remarks carried by Canadian media on Sunday.
The Grain Committee indicated that total wheat exports in the marketing year 2024-2025 since August-July amounted to 11.706 million tons, an increase of nine percent over the corresponding period last year, driven by an increase in durum wheat shipments on an annual basis.
