New York - Saba:
Russia's permanent representative to the United Nations, Vasily Nebenzia, stressed the importance of the ceasefire agreement between the Zionist entity and "Hamas" in Gaza.. expressing his hope that the agreement would be a step towards sustainable peace.
This came during a speech delivered by Nebenzia at the UN Security Council session on the Palestinian issue last night, in which he said: "We cannot forget the heavy price paid by the residents of the Strip with their lives during these months.. During 15 months of Zionist military operations in Gaza, no less than 47,000 Palestinian civilians were "martyred"... Such losses have not been witnessed by civilians since World War II."
Nebenzia pointed out that every attempt by the Security Council to adopt a resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire was thwarted by Washington.. saying: "The United States did everything in its power to prevent the Security Council from obstructing "Israel's" actions on the ground, citing what it calls its silent diplomacy."
