Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro announced today, Tuesday, that his country has signed major investments and is scheduled to be completed in the coming months.. commenting: His country "has become an emerging power in the field of mining."
Maduro said during a meeting with the National Council for the Productive Economy that the Venezuelan industry has been able to increase its growth by 45 percent.. adding: "Venezuela needs to diversify oil revenues and build a new economy that generates additional wealth, as it is part of the global energy equation."
Maduro called for building an economy independent of hydrocarbons, adding that the oil sector produced an average of 1 million and 57 thousand barrels of oil per day during last January, and with our own efforts we seek to produce about 1.5 million barrels per day.
