Cairo - Saba:
Rafah border crossing between the Gaza Strip and Egypt witnessed a massive rally on Friday, in which thousands of Egyptians from various political and popular movements participated to express their absolute rejection of the displacement of Palestinians from their land, and in support of the Palestinian cause.
Participants stressed that these popular marches are a true expression of the conscience of the Egyptian people, who reject any attempts to undermine the rights of the Palestinians, and confirm their firm position in supporting their just cause.
The participants called on the international community to pressure the Zionist entity to end the occupation of the Palestinian territories, and to recognize the rights of the Palestinian people to return and self-determination.
Egyptian sources reported that thousands of Egyptians have continued to rally since Friday morning in front of the Rafah crossing, raising the flags of Egypt and Palestine, and banners rejecting the displacement.
The government-run Nile News Channel said that "popular crowds are flocking to the Rafah crossing to express their rejection of the plans for the forced displacement of the Palestinians."
The channel broadcast live footage showing large numbers of thousands flocking to the crossing.
On Thursday evening, several Egyptian governorates, including Beheira, Kafr El-Sheikh, Gharbia, Port Said, Ismailia, Sharqia, Qalyubia and Beni Suef, witnessed activities rejecting the displacement of Palestinians before the participating crowds headed to the Rafah crossing, according to local media and video clips on social media platforms.
This is the first popular gathering rejecting the proposal since US President Donald Trump proposed for the first time on January 25 to transfer Palestinians from the Gaza Strip to neighboring countries such as Egypt and Jordan, citing the "lack of suitable places to live in the Gaza Strip," which the Zionist enemy entity has been annihilating for more than 15 months.
