The draw for the play-off round of the Champions League in its new system for the 2024-2025 season was held on Friday at the headquarters of the European Football Association in the Swiss city of Nyon.
The draw, which was held between the teams that ranked from ninth to 24th, resulted in Club Brugge of Belgium facing Atalanta of Italy, while Sporting Lisbon of Portugal will face Borussia Dortmund of Germany, Manchester City of England will face Real Madrid of Spain, while Celtic of Scotland will play against Bayern Munich of Germany, Juventus of Italy will meet PSV Eindhoven of the Netherlands, while Feyenoord of the Netherlands will face Milan of Italy, Brest of France will face its compatriot Paris Saint-Germain, while Monaco of France will face Benfica of Portugal.
It is noteworthy that eight teams qualified directly from the league stage, which included 36 teams, to the round of 16, while a play-off stage will be held with two home and away matches. The first leg matches will be held on February 11 and 12, while the second leg matches will be held on February 18 and 19. The draw for the round of 16 will be held on February 21.
