Tehran – Saba:
Iran warned on Monday that US President Donald Trump’s proposal to displace Palestinians from the Gaza Strip to countries such as Egypt or Jordan would amount to “ethnic cleansing.”
According to Iranian media, Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei said during a press conference that the international community should “help the Palestinians secure their right to self-determination instead of pushing other ideas that would amount to ethnic cleansing.”
Since his return to the White House, Donald Trump has proposed “cleaning” Gaza and displacing Palestinians to “safer” places such as Egypt or Jordan, sparking international protests.
Baghaei stated that “cleaning Gaza… is part of the colonial erasure of the Gaza Strip and all of Palestine,” adding that “no third party” can decide the future of the Palestinian territories
