Beijing - Saba:
The Chinese government announced today, Tuesday, the imposition of additional tariffs on several US products in response to the tariffs that Washington decided to impose on Chinese products starting today.
The Chinese Ministry of Commerce said in a statement: It decided to impose a 15 percent tariff on its imports of coal and liquefied natural gas products from the United States, and a 10 percent tariff on crude oil, agricultural machinery and large-engine vehicles.
The statement added: "The tariffs imposed by the United States harm the normal economic and trade cooperation between China and the United States."
It is worth noting that President Trump's decision to impose a 10 percent tariff on US imports from China will go into effect today, while Trump intends to hold talks with his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping in the coming days.
