[04/ February/2025]
Sana'a - Saba:

"At the beginning of 2025, the situation in occupied al-Quds remained unchanged, with Zionist violations continuing unabated.

These violations included killings, arrests, and the relentless pursuit of settlement construction and the Judaization of al-Aqsa and other Islamic holy sites."

"In the first month of this year, the Zionist enemy executed 18-year-old Adam Sab Laban near Qalandia military checkpoint north of occupied Jerusalem. A Zionist sniper, positioned in a military tower adjacent to the checkpoint, fatally shot the young man."

In January, around six thousand Zionists stormed the courtyards of the blessed al-Aqsa Mosque. The month began with their celebratory incursions during the so-called "Jewish Festival of Lights" over two days, and ended with their celebration of the Hebrew New Year, during which 636 settlers stormed the mosque. One of the Temple activists described this month as the "month of salvation."

In al-Aqsa Mosque, herds of settlers danced, sang, prayed collectively and performed epic prostration rituals under the protection of the enemy police. One of them was keen to perform epic prostration in front of the council door, and he hung the flag of the extremist Temple groups on the gate of the Jordanian Islamic Endowments Department.

Data documented by the Europeans for al-Quds Foundation revealed that the enemy forces committed (708) violations distributed over (16) types of human rights violations in the occupied city of al-Quds during the month of January 2025, most of which were complex. The most prominent of these violations were incursions and raids at a rate of 49.6 percent, followed by arrests at a rate of 11.6 percent.

The Foundation monitored in its monthly report (40) shooting attacks and direct assaults by the Zionist enemy forces in the neighborhoods of occupied al-Quds. This resulted in the martyrdom of the child Adam Majdi Sab, 16 years old, after he was shot in the right thigh at Qalandia checkpoint on January 26, while 13 others were injured and dozens suffered from suffocation, in addition to at least 16 citizens being beaten and abused.

The report documented the Zionist enemy forces carrying out 351 raids on the towns and neighborhoods of al-Quds, arresting 82 citizens, including four children and 14 women, summoning 12 others and imposing house arrest on three citizens. The province also witnessed the arrest of a large number of workers coming from the cities of the West Bank to work inside.

The report indicated the continuation of the Zionist enemy's policy of seizing Palestinian homes and properties, as the enemy forces announced the confiscation of 262 dunums of Palestinian land in the towns of Jaba', al-Ram and Kafr Aqab, and the delivery of evacuation orders to the Al-Rajabi and Basbous families from their homes in Batn al-Hawa neighborhood in the town of Silwan in favor of settlers.

The report also documented the enemy's notification of the confiscation of 15 dunums of land surrounding al-Zaim checkpoint, and the evacuation of 26 Maqdeseyan families from their homes in favor of colonial associations in the town of Silwan, south of the blessed al-Aqsa Mosque, 21 of which are owned by al-Rajabi family in Batn al-Hawa neighborhood, and five other homes are owned by Basbous family, as part of its preparation for the implementation of a large-scale settlement plan.

During the month of January, the Zionist enemy authorities issued nine decisions and measures within the framework of consecrating the Judaization of settlements and Judaization in occupied al-Quds, represented in the confiscation of dozens of dunams, the start of the implementation of "Silicon Valley" settlement project in Wadi al-Joz, the opening of a new park for settlers, the establishment of a Jewish religious school and student housing in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood, and recreational, sports and community areas serving settlers on the lands of Yit Mazmil, and a plan to establish nine thousand settlement units in the "Atarot" settlement near Kafr Aqab and a plan to establish 1,100 settlement units near Sharafat.

As for the Zionist attacks on al-Aqsa Mosque, the report documented the participation of 5,922 settlers and thousands under the name of tourists in storming al-Aqsa Mosque, which was repeated over 21 days, and monitored three other central violations by the enemy, most of which were represented in performing Talmudic rituals in its courtyards.

The Zionist settlers continued to carry out attacks against the people of al-Quds. During this month, "Europeans for al-Quds" documented 16 attacks carried out by settlers, which included attacking citizens, seizing a house, assaulting its residents, blocking main roads, and paralyzing movement, all under the protection of the occupation forces.

The organization warned of the danger of the policies, procedures, and decisions of the Zionist government, some of whose ministers hold declared positions regarding the Judaization of al-Aqsa Mosque and al-Quds, and if implemented, they could trigger a new wave of violence and escalation in the entire region.

It also warned of the serious repercussions of the Zionist escalation policy in al-Quds in general and against al-Aqsa Mosque in particular, and called on the international community to take rapid action to pressure the Zionist entity to stop its attacks and back down from its attempt to change the status quo in the blessed al-Aqsa Mosque, and to back down from the policy of seizing Palestinian homes and properties and implementing forced displacement plans, and to put an end to the serious human rights violations committed by the enemy authorities.

In the context of violating freedoms, the Zionist enemy forces arrested more than 130 Maqdeseyan in the occupied al-Quds governorate, including 12 women and seven minors, and the enemy courts issued ten administrative detention orders.

It is noteworthy that in the first phase and in three batches in the prisoner exchange deal between the Zionist entity and the Hamas movement, 63 male and female prisoners from the Jerusalem Governorate were released.

In the first batch, 16 Maqdeseyans were released, including seven minors and nine women, while in the second batch, 27 Maqdeseyans were released, including 19 prisoners sentenced to life imprisonment, 15 of whom were deported outside Palestine, in addition to eight prisoners with high sentences.

The third batch included 20 Maqdeseyans prisoners from the villages and neighborhoods of al-Quds Governorate, including four minors, the youngest of whom is 15 years old, a prisoner sentenced to life imprisonment, and 15 prisoners sentenced to varying terms, the highest of which is 19 years and the lowest of which is seven years, noting that the enemy decided to deport two of the released prisoners outside Palestine.

In addition to the deportation of the 17 prisoners released in the deal, four other Maqdeseyans received deportation orders, including three minors who were released in the deal and deported from the Old City, and the renewal of the deportation of the activist Khadija Khweis from the occupied West Bank.

Media reports indicated that the year 2024 was difficult for the city of Jerusalem and its people with the continuation of the policy of collective punishment pursued by the enemy authorities against the Jerusalemites, and its escalation since the outbreak of the war on Gaza in October 2023.

During the past year, 32 Palestinians were killed and more than 1,472 Jerusalemites were deprived of their freedom by arrest, including 81 women and 170 minors. In the same year, the courts of the Zionist enemy transferred 254 prisoners from al-Quds Governorate to the administrative detention penalty.

Within the framework of the storming of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, 59,911 Zionists desecrated its courtyards, which is the highest number of stormings since its launch by a judicial decision in 2003. These Zionists were keen to perform all their Talmudic rituals, and turned the eastern courtyards of the mosque into a synagogue in which they performed their prayers and rituals on a daily basis.

The year 2024 did not end before 135 Maqdeseyans received deportation orders, including 85 from the blessed al-Aqsa Mosque and 21 deportation orders from Jerusalem, in addition to a number of deportation orders from the Old City, places of residence and confrontations, and seven house arrest orders. As for demolition, 357 demolition crimes were carried out in the occupied city of al-Quds; 262 of which were demolished by the fangs of the enemy's bulldozers, while 95 facilities were forcibly demolished by their owners.
