Qatar announced on Wednesday that it is preparing for the second phase of negotiations for a ceasefire agreement in
Gaza Strip.
"These negotiations could start any day," Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesman Majid al-Ansari said in a statement to Qatar TV.

Qatar was a key mediator in the negotiations that led to the ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement in Gaza Strip.
The agreement came into effect on January 19 and consists of three phases, each lasting 42 days, in which a second and third phase will be negotiated under Qatari-Egyptian-US mediation.
