Gaza - Saba:
The head of the Government Media Office in Gaza, Salama Maarouf, confirmed today, Thursday, that the displaced people in the Gaza Strip faced a harsh night in tents due to the low pressure system.
The Palestine Today News Agency quoted Maarouf as saying: The civil defense teams are unable to provide relief to the residents due to the lack of capabilities.. indicating that large quantities of water flooded the tents and homes of citizens and they are left in the open.
Maarouf demanded the provision of tents and ready-made houses and equipment to repair the streets and roads.
He noted that the silence of the international community encouraged the Zionist enemy to disrupt the entry of aid to the Strip.
"We received five percent of our needs of tents and no mobile homes arrived, while the situation is getting worse with the tents flying away and the prevention of aid from entering," Marouf added.
The office monitors daily violations and the occupation's evasion of the provisions of the humanitarian protocol, he said.
"We submit daily reports on the enemy's manipulation and prevention of aid from entering, but we have not seen any real pressure from international bodies on the occupation entity."
A rainy low-pressure system accompanied by strong winds is hitting the Palestinian territories, which was enough to turn the lives of the displaced in the Gaza Strip into a nightmare.
The Civil Defense department in the Gaza Strip described the situation in the Strip as very tragic, coinciding with the peak of the low-pressure system hitting the region.
The department explained that ten thousand martyrs are still under the rubble and are unable to be recovered due to the lack of equipment.. noting that little aid has entered the Strip and no tents, caravans or prefabricated homes have arrived, and the occupation army does not allow the entry of fuel and rescue and evacuation equipment.
It pointed to the clear failure of international bodies to ensure the entry of aid into the Strip, stressing that the crews are almost unable to respond to humanitarian needs after losing 80 percent of their capabilities.
The department called on the International Red Cross to provide immediate support to our crews and provide us with intervention and rescue mechanisms, as the occupation army deliberately obstructs the entry of equipment and urgent aid to relieve the people of the Strip.
The Zionist war, which it launched on the Strip, completely destroyed the infrastructure.
