At least four people were killed on Thursday when a small plane chartered by the US military crashed in the southern Philippines.
The Philippine military said in a statement that it could not release information about the accident, which occurred on the island of Mindanao, because "the matter is classified and the investigation is ongoing."
The U.S. Indo-Pacific Command in Hawaii did not immediately respond to inquiries about the incident.
Regional police spokesman Joby Ventura told French media that officers have yet to determine what caused the fixed-wing plane to crash on a farm near the municipality of Ampatuan in the Philippines.
None of the four victims of the crash have yet been identified, the spokesman added.
