US President Donald Trump signed an executive order last night to withdraw the United States from the United Nations Human Rights Council and to ban funding for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA).
During his first term, from 2017 to 2021, Trump cut funding to UNRWA, and his first administration withdrew from the 47-member Human Rights Council.
Since taking office for a second term on January 20, US President Trump has ordered the United States to withdraw from the World Health Organization and the Paris Climate Agreement.
