Gold prices stabilized today, Friday, near their record high levels and are heading to record their sixth consecutive weekly gain, after fears of a trade war boosted demand for safe havens.
Media reports today indicated that gold rose in spot transactions by 0.1 percent to $2859.59 per ounce, and rose by more than two percent so far this week.
US gold futures also rose by 0.3 percent to $2884.20.
Gold had recorded an all-time high of $2882.16 earlier this week.
Spot silver rose 0.1 percent to $32.24 an ounce, platinum rose 0.2 percent to $987.38 and palladium was flat at $978.63.
