A new batch of patients and wounded left the Gaza Strip through the Rafah crossing in the southern Gaza Strip, today, Friday.
The Palestine Today News Agency quoted medical sources as saying: 49 patients and wounded left the Gaza Strip through the Rafah land crossing as part of the sixth batch.
Last Saturday, the first batch of patients and wounded from the Gaza Strip arrived in Egypt, after the Rafah crossing was reopened for the first time in nine months.
This medical evacuation outside the Strip comes in implementation of the first phase of the ceasefire agreement that has been in effect since January 19.
The Gaza Strip is suffering from a severe humanitarian crisis as a result of the genocidal war waged by the Zionist enemy over the course of 15 months since October 7, 2023, targeting hospitals and medical staff and preventing the entry of medical equipment, supplies and medicines, which led to the deterioration of health conditions and a severe shortage of medicines and medical supplies.
