Occupied Al-Quds – SABA:

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) expressed deep concern over U.S. President Donald Trump’s decision to impose sanctions on officials of the International Criminal Court (ICC), calling for their immediate repeal.

In a statement issued on Friday, OCHA voiced its full support for the ICC’s independent work in all cases within its jurisdiction.

The statement highlighted that the ICC enjoys the support of two-thirds of the world's nations and is considered a key institution in the international criminal justice system.

It also emphasized the critical role of the ICC in ensuring justice and accountability for serious crimes committed worldwide, including in the occupied Palestinian territories.

OCHA further expressed deep regret over Trump’s unilateral sanctions against ICC officials and reiterated its demand for the immediate reversal of these measures.

The statement stressed the need for the ICC to operate independently, underscoring its essential role within the human rights framework.

Concluding its statement, OCHA reaffirmed that the rule of law remains a fundamental pillar for achieving peace and collective security.
