Hodeidah - Saba:
The Undersecretary of Hodeidah Governorate, Mohammed Halisi, today launched the kitchens project and the distribution of meals to students of schools for the deaf, hard of hearing, disabled and blind in the governorate center, funded by the World Food Program through the Sustainability Without Borders Foundation for Development.
The charitable kitchen project aims to distribute healthy meals to seven thousand male and female students in Al-Amal Schools for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, the Mentally Disabled, the Physically Disabled, and Al-Diyaa Schools for the Blind, in the Hodeidah City Square.
At the inauguration at the School for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, Undersecretary Halisi noted the importance of this project to improve the quality of meals provided to students with special needs, which helps them focus and achieve academic achievement.
He stressed the need to implement such humanitarian projects to support schools for people with special needs in the governorate, to improve school nutrition and enhance the academic achievement of students with hearing disabilities and the physically and mentally blind.
For his part, the official of the educational sector in the governorate, Omar Bahr, explained that the project comes within the framework of the efforts made to support the most needy students, to achieve a stimulating educational environment that contributes to improving the level of education and health for the beneficiary children.
He pointed out that the project to distribute meals to the targeted schools in the city of Hodeidah is implemented through the School Nutrition Department and is expected to continue throughout the school year, to include a larger number of schools in the future.
The inauguration was attended by the Secretary-General of the Mina Directorate, Hassan Hadi Rasmi, the Deputy Official of the Education Sector in the governorate, Abdul Majeed Al-Shamiri, and the Directors of Mina Education, Ibrahim Ayed, and the School Nutrition Department in the governorate, Abdul-Ilah Al-Wasabi.
